How long did you wait for your FBI apostille? 2026

I tracked the package, they received it with my check about a month ago. Now, the check is still not cleared. Wondering how long it takes to get back to me?

It certainly wasn't fast. I reckon that from the time I got my fingerprints scanned here in Buenos Aires to the time I received the apostilled background check was like two months.
I paid by credit card. I think from the time my document arrived to the FBI to the time they charged the card was three or four days. And then another few days for them to do the check and send it to my parents place who then sent it to Monument Visa to do the express apostile.

Not sure about the lead times here in Argentina, however I commute back and forth to the US for work, and during the US Gov. shutdown I assumed that it'd take a long time as it had during the Biden admin. I got printed at a USPS office the day before returning to Argentina hoping that it'd be waiting for me when I returned to the US in six weeks, and I was surprised that I'd received the background check via email the next day! I was able to email it to Monument Visa, who submitted it for me for a fee. They sent it to me in two weeks and I received it here in Villa General Belgrano, in 3-4 weeks. Other than having to pay the fee to Monument it was pretty efficient!

I used a company (Southeast Spanish, Inc) and I was in Argentina when I had to do it. I just went back and looked in my records from 2022, It seems from the time that I sent the items to having them fedexed here it was just over a month.

Are you talking about having it done in Argentina, or about doing it in the US? If you are doing it in the US it's a little like having a passport done. You can do it the slow but cheap way directly through government channels, or hire a third party processor. I used "FBI Apostille" or something like that and it cost a couple hundred bucks but they guarantee quick turnaround, I'm inclined to say 48 hours plus mailing time.

My attorney here gets them in one week...he does it for others for a fee

Update: received it this week... So it took about two months. I was panicking and paid Monument Visa to get it ($150) that took a week. So now I got two copies. Hope this helps someone out there in the same boat.
