Does anyone know of an ethics board or some way to pressure a bank to release a client`s funds ?
To make a long story short, I wire transferred money to my own account at a major Argentine
bank in June. There was nothing wrong with the transfer itself. The bank has not yet deposited
my money. They have now agreed to return my wire transfer "but I must wait". I can`t wait long.
Help !

This is a shocking story. May we ask which bank is holding up your funds?

It is all in Spanish but here it goes ( from the Central Bank )

If I was you I would ask to talk to the branch manager, explain the situation and let him know that you will report it to the Central bank and media. Let him know as well that you will start legal action against the bank. You need to properly file the complaint in order to get things going, so follow the instructions on those links.

Start legal actions first, that your lawyer talks later.
You have to file it before the corralito beggins.

Thanks so much for your links and ideas ! Some one in Buenos Aires is dealing with this on my behalf and I will make sure he knows about your info !

(Is it only my computer or is everyone seeing this site in Spanish tonight?)

It's just you, and your responses (the replies from others were posted in English). You might have left your browser's auto-translate-to-Spanish feature turned on.

This is so strange ! Everything is in English now except my responses from earlier tonight. I did not adjust anything. I have never used automatic translate on my computer and all other sites I went to were in their normal language. Maybe there`s an automatic translate option for this site ? Interesting.
