Interesting rip off by a forum user - mercadolibre

I'm selling my great Dahon bicycle on another post, and haven't gotten any message about it as of yet. I go to post it on mercadolibre, and what do I see? Someone else has posted MY BICYCLE with MY SHADOW. I appreciate it if you are trying to find any buyers, but the bicycle is still in my living room. Don't be a scumbag.

My best guess is they want to resell the bike for a higher value, but don't want the risk of buying it first. Either way, that's a low thing to do. Now I am going to have confused people on Mercado libre contacting a person that doesn't own the bike... We better get inspector Steve on this asap!

after looking at the pics, i can see why it hasn't sold. Hurts my butt just to look at that seat...

And to think someone tried to arb you for 100 pesos....lol some folks are REALLY hurtin for cash.

You should post a "question to seller" telling people the truth! Even though anyone wanting to buy that bike will see your post for 100 pesos less and pick yours. Still, you should alert mercado libre otherwise people will see both and smell something very fishy. At the very least post a question which I don't think the seller can delete....

I find the seat quite comfortable. It's not a beach bike, but it's not a racing seat either!

I asked on the fake mercado libre page:

Me: Hola, $3800 esta bien?
Response: Ahhh! So you want to buy your own bike lol -
Me: Le agradecería que si bien ibas a comprar la bici por $ 3800 o eliminar esta página. No es justo para vender algo que no es tuyo. You are giving a bad name to expats.

IT looks like someone (possibly from this site) is screwing with you, especially given the fact that they replied in English.
