Intruder alarms/security systems in suburbs?

Hi, all, asking this question on behalf of a friend:
Her 76-year-old mother will be living alone in a large, window-filled house located in the Quilmes suburbs. She would like to purchase a security alarm, but knows nothing about the options available and is trying to do some research. Could anyone recommend a brand and/or company that they use and trust? Thanks!

We use "Alert" and have been very happy with their service. We live in the south suburbs of BA.
