Hello everyone. This is my first post here, so if I do it incorrectly please let me know and I'll move it/take it down. But I'm severely anemic, was getting infusions in the states on top of supplementing, I'm gonna be in BA for the next three years and am struggling to find infusions here. I found a doctor who said she knew someone and would get back to me but that was a few weeks ago. Does anyone here get them or know where I could go? My Spanish is terrible and I'm still kinda finding my way around, so maybe its actually very simple haha.

Also nice to meet you all ♥ My name is Kilian and I'm from East Tennessee.

I can't help you with your Spanish, but my wife had iron infusions at Hospital Italiano. So I'm sure you could have it done there.

There are oral supplements as well as iron shots and infusions. In order to get iron shots you will need a prescription from a doctor, the shot itself can be given by a doctor or nurse in an office setting. For iron infusions you will need prescription and access to a hospital or clinic facility through insurance or pay out of pocket ( beware many places will reject you simply because they are not used to patients paying privately for this kind of treatment ). Hope this helps. It is important to know the cause of your iron deficiency in order to see a doctor that can give you the most suitable treatment.

If you have a US prescription for the infusions can find the local equivalent . I'm sure Farmaplus must carry it . You are looking for intravenous or infusion drinkable?

Intravenous. I've been getting iron supplements from a farmacity near me, but anything past 200mg gives me terrible stomach issues, so the doctor suggested infusions.

I've got an appointment to see a doctor in the colegiales area, I'll bring up the infusion prescription with her, someone on the thread mentioned hospital italiano so I'll see if they'll take it. Thanks for your help!

I go to my local parrilla for iron infusions from morcilla
