How bad these suckers are on the Uruguay coast North of Punta del Este? Is camping possible there without a large blood donation?

We have a fan over our bed, and spray the bed with Off, before going to bed. It's not 100%, but does seem to keep the population down. We definitely plan to install screens.

screens are essential, plus ceiling fans, plus a lot of luck. and right now we are in a drought!! remember last february when (apart from the inundations) mosquitos were the only conversation in town? a friend of mine (then) had to leave a theater in the middle of a play because he had been bitten in the eye....

No shortage of them up there, unfortunately.

I have the imression that there are much less mosquitos this year compared with last summer. Does anybody agree? I hope this situation will not change Maybe it is because of the cold winter.
