Is there a way to pay for Aerolineas Argentina tickets through their website?

Doesn't seem to be a way if you are a foreigner (despite the site claiming that there is). They wouldn't even let us pay via phone--made us go to a local office because the "flight was within 48 hours".

Is there something that we are missing, or is it genuinely impossible to pay online?

Thanks in advance for any tips, hoping to do this with less hassle next time!

I tried a long time ago and it didn't work. I wound up going to the office downtown (Rivadavia and Florida) and pay in person.

1) Call the office in your home country.
2) Use a credit card billed in that country.
3) Leave 2 phone numbers, one in that country, one your argentine number.
4) Wait 2 minutes, receive e-ticket confirmation.

Voila!

The problem is that you don't have used a issued CC here in Argentina. Without that you never will have luck. Use www.expedia.com instead because there you will get you the same price and if you are looking after on your CC bill you will see "Aerolineas Argentina" has catched the money
