I was recently told by a local that at Libertador & Callao there's a large abandoned theme park called Italpark. Supposedly, it has been partly reopened, but there is still a closed off, abandoned part. Does anyone have any more information about it? Does this still exist, and if so, would it just be Jump a fence and done, or is there more security to it?

As far as I know, it has been completely replaced by Parque Thays (in the ninetees after the theme park closed).

It's a mix of facts related to different locations.
Parque Thays is where stood the Italpark when I was a kid. There's absolutly nothing left of it.
Parque de la Ciudad is a partly dismounted / abandoned / accessible site. Every now and then it is used for movie / advertising productions.
Lastly, you might also want to check Ciudad de los Niños, near La Plata.

Found a link to some pics of the abandoned Parque de la Ciudad. http://www.taringa.net/posts/imagenes/12661341/Entre-en-el-Parque-de-la-Ciudad-abandonado__fotos_.html

The park closed after a deadly accident 1990 and never opened again. http://www.lanacion....lto-al-italpark
Everyone expected an accident at any time.
There was no maintenance.
