I have recently started a relationship with an Argentina woman, however with the Pandemic, I had to remain here in the US with my family until this calms down. What kind of jobs are available down there for Americans? My background is Construction Inspection, Unexploded Ordinance and Retail Management. Willing to explore other trades / routes.

Hi there! I suggest that you search for jobs on linkedin. You need to consider that, unless you get married, Americans need to secure a temporary visa (i.e. Work Visa) which is valid for 1 year and can be renewed on a yearly basis until year #3. After year 3, you are eligible to apply for Permanent Residency and you don´t need to extend the visa anymore. Please consider that your future employer needs to be enrolled with the Immigration Department as a sponsor too (locally known as the RENURE License). Always make sure that your employer has this license, else it will not be possible to sponsor your residency. Take care!

Jobs? Seriously?

Don't even think about it. Bring her to the US or find someone else. Unemployment in Argentina was already high and after things let up where they will let you in again there will be even fewer jobs for Argentines, much less for love struck Americans.

Welcome.

There are no job opportunities in this country.
By the time this Scheiße Sturm is over we will stil have to deal with an economic crisis of cosmic proportions.

If you really care for this woman, bring her home and provide her with a green card. Most argies do well in the US. Our survival instincts help us prosper.

There are jobs, because there always are. For example, my estate agent friend is looking for an office worker right now. People leave work, move on, etc. all the time.

However:

a) There are not enough to go around
b) There'll be even less once this situation ends.
c) You will probably be bottom of the pile especially if comepting against equally qualified locals.
d) Maybe you are, but are you considering even if you get the job you won't get the same money for the same role as you would in the US?

I really don't fancy the chances of anyone coming from outside and entering the job market here unless they provide a specialist service and enter a multi-national (those kinds of roles will usually be filled before moving here). If you have a skill and can start your own business or can work online, that would be your best bet.

As everyone has stated finding a proper job here is going to prove very difficult. Your best bet is to find remote work from the US.
