L A N Would Stop All Domestic Flights...!!

My friends and I were talking about this. We get why they are doing it, it gives Aerolineas
a monopoly on domestic flights, from the airport closest to downtown, and it can continue
with the 20%-30% increase in domestic fares even though that's more than official inflation
(sorry, forgot there is only one, true/accurate figure for inflation & USD=ARS exchange rate).

What's surprising is that during a time when people are getting ready to vote and paying more
attention to the news (especially anti-K contenders who have even more fodder) they don't care,
and they appear willing to break the contract/lease (and I assume without compensation) just to
get AEP under Aerolineas Control.

I'm waiting fro Lanata to theorize the opened up flight times will make direct flights from AEP
to Victoria, Seychelles possible on Aerolineas, lol

Mariano Recalde.

Qualifications for Aerolineas CEO Role:

1. Transport sector experience.
  • None
2. Commercial Experience
  • None
3. Nepotism
  • Father is a PpV Senator
4. Campora links
  • Leader
You are hired son, come on down.

In the civilized world this would be enough to cause a scandal, jeoparidising the political future of the family and quite enough to trigger a employment discrimination case for anyone who was actually qualified for the job that this fool got in their place.

Until this sort of nepotism and corruption leaves town the future isn't too bright.

I am totally flummoxed (yes, flummoxed!) as to how this sort of corruption / self interest, especially on this scale, does not get prosecuted.

In my home their would be criminal charges, (on the presentation of evidence from the federal anti corruption body) and most probably a Royal Commission to weed out any other wrongdoers and possibly firm up legislation to prevent it happening again.

I am not naive enough to deny corruption exists in my country, but if it existed on this sort of scale with the seemingly breadcrumb-like trail of evidence available, I would be waving my pitchfork in blind fury - demanding heads roll - along with the rest of the lynch mob.

I think you can count one finger the number of countries that have expropriated a private airline in order to do this (yes, I know that what is now AeroCámpora began as a state-run entity).

Sadly, here you get used to it!

Your state of flummox will abate, soon when you notice things like this you will resort to little online outbursts of frustration, but accept it as normal. It permeates through Argentina. Look at the job threads. Who you know countrs more than what you know and everyone is playing the same game!

You're not in Kansas anymore.

Secretary of Transport Randazzo requested that Aerolineas be allowed to fly domestic routes in Chile and Brasil..... :D
Nothing stops Aerolineas from incorporating a subsidiary in Chile, buy planes and invest $$$ to develop a local infrastructure throughout Chile.

In fact, they did so for a few years as Aerolíneas del Sur, but couldn't compete with LAN or even secondary Chilean airlines like Sky.
