The recent impeachment of Dilma Rousseff in Brazil has started many people interested in political science in the region thinking that a lot of the problem could be the "personalismo" concept in its politics. We have peronismo, kirchnerismo and now even cristinismo. Maybe it's time to say,"Enough already".
Sybil Rhodes who has a doctorate in political science fron Stanford U. and is a professor at UCEMA (Universidad de Estudios Macroeconomicos Argentinos) here in B:A: writes about these subjects in an article in today's BA Herald in an interesting and in depth analysis of the pros and cons of presidentionalist systems in our region. If your interested, please take a look.
Argentina's Neuquen Province may have taken the lead with its recent "ley de impersonalidad" whereby no photos or other images of a political party's candidate is allowed to be used to present their platform. Sounds like a good start.
