Little Time Left. Pilar/capital City Day Trip?

Hello expats!
My boyfriend and his friends want to go to the suburb of Pilar for a day trip and see the Capital City. Is it worth it? What are activities to do there? What is the best and fastest way to get there? Any recommendations on things to do or places to eat? I only have one week left in Buenos Aires after living here for 6 months so I want to spend it doing things I know I will enjoy. Any input is welcome! Thank you so much in advance!

I'm not sure what the Capital City is, but if you've never been to Pilar, it's a nice area. I wouldn't consider it a waste of time to visit within a 6 month stay. That said, there's not much to do there. It's not really a city, it's a spread out suburban area. There's mostly countries (gated communities) with nice houses with some shopping centers and a nice church.

It's not the best place to go if you don't have a car, though... If you don't have your own car, you're going to be walking a lot and not see much.

Tigre is a better place to go for a day trip, in my opinion.

I live near Pilar and there's not much to do (unless you have a kid & go to Temaiken).

You can go a bit further to Capilla del Senor (small & antique village, quiet & nice, rather to spend 3 or 4 hours walking around. Avoid at all cost the parrilla on the right when entering this village = aweful).

Also San Antonio de Areco, Lujan.

Alternative (if you have no problems with overstays and that's what I would do in your situation) : make a round trip to Carmelo in Uruguay. There's a boat (Cacciola viajes) starting from Tigre which will take you through the delta & islands up to Carmelo = really nice sightseeing if you like nature. Carmelo is also a quiet village, nice to have lunch.
