A big main room that could hold 50-100 people (i.e 10 circular tables of 5-10 people).
Any neighborhood (i.e touristy area)

Perica -- there are a few locations. I'm a little biased because I'm related to the owner, but I've attended a few private events there and had a blast.

check the hipodromo (spelling?) in san isidro. They have a banquet room there 2nd level overlooking the track. We had our wedding party there.

Without knowing the type of event, hard to suggest, however two options that popped into mind are: Modena Bar near the Bellas Artes/ Facultad de Derecho/Design Centre, and Grupo Nacional in Hollywood (an events space).
