Hi there,
I had read that Buenos Aires was the capital of waxing... however, the only place I've tried that is also the closest to my house wasn't that great. So just wondering if someone could recommend a good beautician's that's central or preferably in San Telmo...and not too expensive?
Many thanks!

I always go to Jessica. It's on Santa Fe directly across from the main entrance to Alto Palermo. I highly recommend it, fair prices and very clean/professional. I lived in San Telmo for a year and was unable to find a place that didn't sketch me out hygiene wise.

Demi Center -- they have a few different locations -- http://www.demicenter.com/

I guess the one in Recoleta would be closest for you? You don't need a turno, though you can book one. My only annoyance with them is they close early. I think 7 on weekdays and only until 6 on saturdays.

I went several years to Monica Brenta for waxing my legs they have branches one of them on Sarmiento right at the back of Teatro San Martìn, they also must have a web page, they work very well and are not expensive I never went to another place. I never get a turno on the phone, i like the way they work

Cerini is another one, Marcelo T de Alvear and Parana. They have a website. It´s a large hair dressers with a huge depilacion salon downstairs, no appointment needed but the wait can be long if there´s lots of people there.

Monica Brenta is good and really cheap and they only do waxing so they are specialized on that.

Not much use to you right now, but for future reference. The best waxing I've EVER had anywhere was by Sarah from Ladygardens (http://www.ladygardens.net/). She is away for a few months at the moment, soon to return offering even more services, but I understand she has arranged for someone to take care of her clients whilst she's away so might still be good to contact her. Certainly worth keeping her in mind for when she returns in a few months time.

i also recommend sarah. she has really high standards for waxing, which is great. i think she is out of town for the moment, so you might have to wait a bit to try her out!
