The most important thing that I miss about Argentina is their love of animals . Argentina per capita has more pets than anywhere in the planet and this shows in their love and respect for them . I left behind my beloved abisinio Cat Leon in Argentina . He is with my best friend there Jorge but the feeling of loss of not being with him has been very hard . I am glad though that I did not bring him to Australia as there is the most vile campaign here against cats and if he happened to escape to the street they would put him down . I have seen just two cats on the streets here in over 10 months . This is my foto of Leon many people told me he was the most beautiful cat of Argentina .

Cats have an outsized effect on the local bird population. They are prolific hunters. According to estimates, feral cats in particular account for 70% of cat related bird deaths. It's understandable a community seeking to protect their native bird life would cull the feral population. Sadly many owners don't spay/neuter their pets.
