lower flight cost

I just got a one way flight from JFK to EZE on August 12th for 550 . The cost for August 7th was 1400 .I have read that some on this forum have information on airline ticketing and prices . American Airlines was about 1175 for the same date . I have checked and the price for Aerolineas and they are still offering the same price . Does anybody have any information on why the drop Thanks
 
were you looking at same fare classes for every search? one way tickets in all cases?

could just be simple supply/demand.
