Mailing Letters to US currently prohibited

Many thanks, Steve. I am waiting for my partner's form to arrive. That said, he's travelling to NY next Tuesday so I was thinking of having him mail my form from there. About his unreceived form, what if I downloaded and printed the blank form, he fills it out, then he mails this also to Wilkes Barre, PA, while in NY?

You are most welcome, Guido. I think your plan is flawless.

Also, what return address did your sister use when mailing your form? I know, this latter question sounds weird, but not sure if I should our address here or our NY address when mailing the forms.

I am sure she used her home address in Illinois and, based on the outcome (my benefits were reinstated before the next payment date, I don't think the return address makes any difference to the SSA.

Thanks again, Steve. I believe I'll do this and get it out of my hair, so to speak. I'll use our NY address, etc,

That got me searching. Amazingly, Argentina seems to be in a possible majority of countries which still have a telegram service. Who knew that?
I don’t understand why people still have to submit a resignation to a job through telegrams. Sounds like the Stone Age to me.

I erroneously wrote "Baltimore" in a previous post. The correct destination is indeed Wilkes Barre, PA. 🤠

Anyone who had a formal job here should know, to resign your position you need to send a telegram to your company.
This sounded so unlikely, but it was also specific enough that I figured you were serious. Then I saw this response:

and confirmed with some local friends that it is 100% true for a formal job. That is so wild!!!

last year my ssi payments were suspended . i had not received the form in the mail. i contacted the us embassy, and they sent me the form via email, and asked me to send it to them. i sent the form via mail to buenos aires us embassy and they forwarded it. payments back! so i assume that we dont need to have a person return to us to mail in the future!

I went to a milonga in my neighborhood last night to meet up with a tango friend. I gave her my SSA form to mail in the US since she arrives on Wednesday in Texas. I have done this before to insure that the form is delivered by the deadline.

Another tango friend is staying two more weeks before he returns to Washington, DC. If you want to arrange with him to mail your form, send me a PM.

I used to send telegrams for my resignations in the 70s and it hasn t changed. The same would apply to your household employee en blanco.
