Hi, everyone,

Where can I get a doctor to write our children medical certificates certifying that they are fit to play sports? Our kids are healthy. We just need the certificate to participate.

Thanks a lot for your help.

never heard of that before, needing certificates to prove your kids are fit to play,,,UNFIT to play.yes,but......

Well I suppose any local doctor would do that for you.if such a thing exists..
where are you based?

Ahhh it is that wonderful time of the year :p all schools will ask you for these certificates as well. If you have health insurance get an appointment with your kids doctor and he will do it. Beware that some doctors, depending on how old your kids are, might order blood tests, cardio tests, etc. before signing anything for you.

Same thing can apply for entry into certain running races in some countries. To enter the Paris Marathon (or any marathon in France) you need a medical certificate from a doctor to say you are fit to run. I believe the same applies in Uruguay, which will affect me as I plan to run a Marathon there later this year, so I would be interested as to where a "tourist" can acquire such a cert, or do I have to get it from my doctor back home in Ireland?

Some of the larger clinics do special days (usually Saturdays) where they do everything in one stop. Physical, blood, urine, xrays, cardio... You may want to call around.

Do you have health insurance? If you do, you can get an appointment with your general doctor and ask him for the certificate. some health insurance companies have Sports specialists ( Medicina deportiva, Medicina del deporte ) as well. I guess if you do not have any insurance you can get an appointment with a GP at a public hospital and ask him for the certificate and checkup.

where can I get a piece of paper that says I'm hot?

Yes they do have crazy stuff like that.. basically I think it is a paper just to say you are breathing...I had to get one to join a gym.... Hopefully someone on here knows a doctor..... I lucky had a friend who knew a doctor and he wrote a quick note saying I was OK to join and train in a gym..I never even went to the office...
sounds like you need the same thing to say your kids can play!!!!
