Medical insurance through a sindicato?

I have medical insurance through a sindicato. Does anyone else have this experience?
Yes, it seems to be automatic when you're employed, you get assigned to some insurance company. Both Mrs. Pintor and me had the same thing happen to us. It sounds a bit dodgy, to be honest, and you need to actively change it (the bigger insurance companies will help you with the form-filling)

It all depends on what kind of insurance: if it is through monotributo, registered employment, if it is tied to your activity or you chose a different obra social. Some are very good, others the horror. It really all depends. Also some people redirect their obra social contribution to a private insurer and that saves them some money and most importantly they do not pay VAT. If you give out more information I may be able to give you more input.

The sindicado is osecac. I have no choice in this as far as I know.....and thanks for your response.
I am a registered employee.

Osecac is one of the largest ones. It is very decent, you just have to explore and see how it works.
