This appears to mean that:
- in the house of deputies LLA+PRO are now projected to control about 121 out of the 257 seats.
- in the Senate out of 72 seats, LLA+PRO control 31+ seats while Peronism controls 27 seats.

To get laws through will still require negotiation with provincial blocks and small parties by LLA, but it should mean that more serious changes can start to be passed and take effect if they are serious about getting things done.

Milei did it again. 100% saved by Donnie’s moneyhose. Hopes of a cheaper peso out the window … the cheap times for expats are gone for good
Not an expert, but I have to think there will be devaluation to some extent in a few months. Could look like Milei declaring some limited victory over inflation, starting to devalue a bit in a hopefully controlled way, etc. Don't see things getting cheap but the current exchange rate policy has a specific goal, is very expensive for the government and the government will need to build reserves to pay debt at some point.

Personally, I think this is great news for the country even though expats on fixed incomes are likely looking at another grueling year. Some predictions are that the dollar will return to the 1200-1300 range for the next few months as various hedge bets unwind and the market looks to see whether the government can accumulate reserves within the band.

Konner recommended SE Asia; presumably Vietnam, Laos, Kampuchea or Thailand.

Agreed. I want to see the Argentines do well.

Still not an expert, but they're not going to accumulate reserves at 1200-1300 which the market and government knows is too low. More importantly they'll miss the reserves target they agreed with the IMF. The gov't said 1500 seems reasonable and I think that's their goal. 1500 is still below what the market thinks it should be (says the armchair economist) particularly with still high inflation so they may have to let it devalue past that. Devaluation isn't bad in of itself as long as inflation can be kept under control. I bought a bunch of pesos at 1545 tonight with western union to cover the next six week's expenses so I'll feel the pinch if I'm wrong!.

Barg, seems you got a good rate. Do you know if you can change money at all the Western Unions in CABA.
