Might be moving back to UK temporarily but don't want to lose residency in Argentina. Suggestions?

I was literally just looking at this. It mentions that you need to have 2 years or residency "ininterrumpida". Does this mean you can't have left the country at all in two years?
Yes, however if you took short trips it would not affect it.

Only if you have already applied for citizenship.
The new DNU clearly states that if an applicant spends a single day abroad, the two year period starts all over again. So not even short trips are allowed if an applicant wants citizenship with two years of residency.

“ARTÍCULO 2°.- Son ciudadanos por naturalización:

Brilliant, looks like I'm running out of options 😬

Thanks for the heads up

You can still file your citizenship application with the Federal Court, but you’ll need a lawyer who is willing to challenge the new decree. The courts are currently accepting new cases. You may want to consult bajo_cero2 for more information.

The entire process is expected to take about 1.5 years. During this period, you should not leave the country due to the new decree. If the decree is later found to be illegal, you may be allowed to leave for up to 5 months.
