Well, of course they can go back to the peso, but it will make their sham of money printing more obvious and more difficult.

How does making the Peso more expensive and more desirable compared to the US Dollar square with the objective of dollarizing? Or am I naive expecting any semblance of logic from this government?

We're already seeing the effects of this policy, up to 40,000 Argentinians crossed over to Chile during the long weekend, because prices are lower there (cans of Tuna are 30% of the Argentinian price).

If trade barriers are removed with this policy in place, Argentinian industry will be destroyed due to the uncompetitive Peso value. Maybe that's the whole idea?
