An excellent speech. Could hardly have been better. Hopefully Argentina will grow up and move on from socialism and the magic money tree economics.

A refreshing “baño de realidad”.
It seems his supporters, who by no means looked that “well off”, are not as ignorant and naïve as some would like to have it believed.
People voted for him because they know that things need to get “worse” before they can actually get better, and people applauded being told that it would in no uncertain terms by the guy who will do it.

Another refreshing sign of the times is this crowd of people picked up their own rubbish and left the plaza clean showing some civic responsibility. A big contrast to the crowds that filled the same plaza in the past decades.

I've been in this country for far too long to be optimistic.

The Ks and their cronies are more of a mafia than a political party filled with criminals who abuse the poor for their own political ambitions.

I remember the screams of Si Se Puede and Macri putting together "the best economic team in 100 years", only to fail hard.

Now it's VLLC. The result won't be any different. He's surrounding himself with the same old politicians "la casta" -- much like Trump's draining the swamp. As Milei wisely pointed out you can't expect different results with the same people as always.

Prices will rise, salaries won't catch up to the increases, the population will be disillusioned and vote for Axel Kicillof in 2027.

Living within your means (aka austerity) restores the integrity of your economic system but it's only half the solution. The other half is to increase your means by producing enough goods and services (aka wealth) to allow you to live well.

Milei is going to fail if he implements only the stick part and omits the carrot part. It's critical that he emphasizes government policies as soon as possible that result in an economic renaissance in Argentina by welcoming entrepreneurs and making the production of goods and services easier than it's ever been.

Yep. Who in the their right mind would invest substantial money in this country when you know Axel is right around the corner?? I'm not talking about buying apartment or something like that, but rather the large capital investments that Argentina needs to grow.
