Milei's Omnibus Law

Milei is the answer if he fails Argentina will be Venezuela without oil
Er, Argentina actually has a lot of oil and much better chances of extracting it than Venezuela.

Who knows if Milei is the answer (if he is, then what was the question?) but he’s delivering higher inflation than Venezuela at the moment. Quite an achievement. All the posters who previously revelled in comparing the two countries inflation, and were positively joyous on the very few occasions Argentinian inflation was higher, appear to have disappeared into the undergrowth.

None of which is to say, Argentina was a paradise under the previous government, but hey, let’s have some consistency here.

And, of course, none of the current inflation has anything to do with all the "precios
reprimidos" established by the previous govt in large part to win the election.

Why don't you be consistent and tell the whole story of why we have the current
inflation that we have. And, of course, that includes, in addition to Alberto and Cristina, Macri, but also Cristina that left a fiscal deficit of 5.5 % of GDP and Néstor, who started with a fiscal surplus and record prices for crops and never made the fundamental changes necessary to right this ship.

There’s news for you, try https://www.lapoliticaonline.com/ec...precios-y-entierra-los-preceptos-libertarios/

It’s not your favourite pagina12 source, but look:

“The truth is that beyond semantics the [Milei] program is very similar to the latest editions of PreciosCuidados, which under the management of Sergio Massa was renamed "Fair Prices" and as Milei's administration now argues, at that time it promoted the "voluntary" aspect of the sales”.

What’s was your point, again? 🙄 Every time you post, I think, “he’s telling me he’s not in Bueno Aires, without actually saying he’s not in Buenos Aires”.

It wasn't just the supermarket prices represented by precios cuidados that were repressed but also so many other prices, tariffs, fees in so many different sectors.

That’s incredibly specific, thanks for sharing.

How about utilities for one? How about transportation costs? How about fuel? How about health care costs? How about the price of medicines?
