Euphemism for strike!

www.ambito.com/866167-gremios-paran-el-transporte-el-lunes-para-presionar-por-ganancias
The head of the entity and member of the triumvirate that conducts the CGT gave notice of the decision by the transportation guilds to perform "surprise, spontaneous assemblies" next Monday from 4 am to noon time. It applies to bus terminals, airports, ports and railway stations.

The bank strike segues nicely into this one.
'tis the season of good cheer.

3 beautiful young "princesas"---as Clarin put it --from Posadas,Misiones are dead after their bus driver fell aleep at the wheel whole driving through southern Brazil. Also, the bus was overcrowded with 67 passengers and meant only for 63
The CGT and member unions ought to be more "on top" of their members to be sure they are in good health and get their need rest before undertaking any kind of driving.
A word to Moyano,Massa and Stobilizer .
El sueldo si ES ganancia ! A salary YES is ,indeed,a profit over a certain amount
.In the US we pay income tax on almost all income. If I'm wrong, please, correct me.i've been away almost 40 years.

Argentines understand Ganancia as Profit, so they claim Salary is something earned with Hard work . Not a Profit , as in a business Profit...

I agree with Rich One. Argies used the term ganancias (profit) interchangeably with the term "gains".

Salary, (sueldo) is income (ingresos)

Gains (ganancias) is profits (lucro)

Argentine "sindicatos" use the meanings for "sueldo & ganancia" which most suit their puposes and those which most benefit themselves and their rank and file.
In English .income tax is a tax on net income .Basically it is a tax on income over allowable costs
In Argentina they play and move around the allowable costs ;"el minimo imponible" which due to the generally totally erratic state of their economy and inflation is quite difficult to fix with any exact equanimity or certantity.Thus.the confussion as to really what the allowable costs ,in fact, are.
A perfect example of,"Rio revuelto, ganacia de pescadores"-----A choppy river makes great fishing for those in the know".
The transport unions apparently give a " flying f__k" about the 3 young girls dead in Brazil due to the negligence of one of their members (now under arrest there) and even less about the early rush hour commuters this coming Mon.AM in BA Screw them too..It goes around and comes around.

http://www.lanacion....an-definiciones

....the transport unions ratified that tomorrow there will be service stoppage for buses, trains, subways and airplanes for at least two hours, although in some cases the protests could be extended until noon.....

....Formally, the assemblies are convened for 5:00 am and will meet thru 7:00 am. But there are guilds, like the one of the Metro delegates, which warned that the service stoppage of the subways may cease beginning the noon hour. A similar calculation was made by train drivers for standardization in the train service....

....The decision to stop the transport during full negotiation caused sparks inside the CGT.....there are those who believe that complicating the transfer of millions of workers, which are the majority who do not pay Gains, serves only to generate discomfort against the guilds....But there are also those who, without ignoring this reading, know that the stoppage serves to add pressure to the Government, which tomorrow will receive the legislators and Tuesday the governors to finish defining the new project....

The decision to stop transportation during full negotiation as well as the time chosen (5 to 7 AM) was made to avoid conflicting with the "binding arbitration" clause in Argentine labor law re: strikes and work stoppages. The excuse being that the union's members need time to become acquainted with the negotiations updates..
Another union trick.
As time goes on the public at large and fewer and fewer users of public transportation and other services like the banks become fully aware that these are union pressure tactics and, far from adding more pressure on the gov't, users increasingly begin to side with the gov't in such matters.
Watching closely the debate on Ganancias,we see that there exists a nucleus of governors who side with the gov't..After a few gives and takes on both sides a deal could be cut soon.Moyano,of course, is more a key player than Massa who wants to appear as the champion of the Frente Renovador as Lilita says ,Massa is the most like Nestor Kirchner -read not good,Stobilizer as a believing Socialist is doing what she firmly thinks best.
I am lighting candles to the Virgin that the gov't comes out on top.It sorely needs this 1st big success factor.
