movistar voicemail

Hi I picked up a SIM chip and my phone works fine but can anyone explain how I check voice mail messages with movistar? I tried dialing my own number and hitting star and pound but it did not work. thanks.

I think the voicemail number for Movistar is *555 and default password is 1234#
