Hey everyone,

Quick question, does anyone have a recommended email or contact for issues with entry status.

I like to process under the digital nomad visa just to play by the rules (makes me feel safer with carrying so much computer tech for my job), but checked my online entry stamp and it's marked as 90 day tourist.

I know the renewal and sort is easy enough, but kinda miffed about the mis-catagorization.
Does anyone know where to start for trying to get that straightened out.

Never mentioned entering as tourist at the airport. Have the full final nomad visa on hand.

Thanks

Post Script:

Got off the phone with the NY embassy, sounds like the entry migraciones officer simply booked me as tourist even though I had the nomad visa.

The embassy made it sound like there's nothing that can really be done about it, system can't be adjusted for how the officer books.
Bit cheessed about the wasted time and money, but I'm well aware we have plenty of info around getting the most out of the tourist status on this forum.

Still, if anyone knows anything different, I'd appreciate it.

I'd go down to Migraciones and talk to someone there. Worst case, they say you have to leave and come back in to use the nomad visa.

When we went to Migraciones for our permanent residency appt. a number of years ago, the young woman helping us discovered that migraciones had my wife listed as entering as a tourist and not a temporary resident the last time we had entered the country. She sent us to a different sector in the same building to get that changed, just to make sure it wouldn't be a problem for the granting of our permanent residency.

In a similar situation I've been advised to leave and enter again with a proper category. Ended up going to Santiago for weekend shopping. Nomad visa is same transitoria category as a tourist so you are not losing anything.
