At the weekend we visited the Nike Factory store on Corrientes ( almost level with the Chacarita cemetery).

I noticed that almost all the sports shoes were made in Argentina and the prices were not too bad - has anyone tried these? Is the quality good?

I have used a couple of the running and football tops , again made in Argentina, and they are lasting quite well .

They also have some imported stuff but this is quite expensive.

Funny. My tutor and I were just talkin favorite this yeaterday.

She says avoid nike and Adidas at all cost when made in Argentina

I purchased a pair of Nike Lunarglide 4 here. I run 35-50 miles per week. These lasted me about the same as shoes I would have purchased in the US. They were a bit more expensive than the same shoes in the US.

I thought all the Nike products here were manufactured in Brazil.

You can now buy your Nike products in one of the former "cafe notables" on Florida, the old Richmond confiteria has been refurbishd and (sadly imo) opening as a Nike building. A small cafe has been wedged in to ensure compliance with the regulation stating these cafe notables must be re-opened as cafes.

I tried some Reeboks that were made in Argentina, the sole disconnected itself from the shoe after 6 months.

The same thing happened to me with Reeboks!

As for Nikes: I bought 3 pairs made in Argentina, in a Nike Store, during the past 2 years = no problem.

I would think that any famous brand sport shoes that have a "made in Argentina" label are fake and are actually made in China .Don't Argentina and China have a trade agreement?

They are are produced under licence and part of the production is exported to other Latin American countries

That's what I wondered for the Reeboks I bought for a normal price in a "normal" shop.

But the Nikes I bought were bought directly from a Nike Shop so no real doubt about the provenance
