I'm looking for a quiet, reasonably priced ($125-150 USD) hotel in Palermo or nearby for my parents. The usual places have gotten so expensive and I'm hoping there are still some hidden gems out there. They don't need a bunch of services or anything even slightly hip, just a quiet, clean place in a good spot for walking around. Thanks for the help!!!

Rent something on airbnb.com. You can get a nice studio apartment with A/C, a pool, kitchen, etc for $100 a night

I love airbnb but they are fans of regular hotels, especially if they have king-sized beds! :)
One can only dream...

Not sure what are of Palermo you're shooting for, but I've had friends and family stay in the following and have all been happy:

Esplendor Palermo Hollywood http://www.booking.com/hotel/ar/esplendor-palermo-hollywood.en.html (showing prices around $100 a night)

Dazzler Suites Juncal http://www.booking.com/hotel/ar/dazzler-suites-juncal.en.html?aid=307415;tab=4;rid=475166423

Mansilla 3935 B&B ($70 a night) http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g312741-d619655-Reviews-Mansilla_3935_B_B-Buenos_Aires_Capital_Federal_District.html

Hi, where in Palermo? because Palermo is one of the biggest area in Buenos Aires, figure out well the zone, and I can recommend you good hotel.

More Soho/Viejo than Hollywood area. They like to walk around and check out shops and restaurants. The key is low key. They don't want to listen to a bunch of late night partying but it's nice to still be central since they only have a few days in BA.

Have a look at www.abodebuenosaires.com it is a lovely b&b in Palermo soho with rooms costing between us$110 to us$150.

Just wanted to close out this post and follow up with our experience. My parents did stay at Abode, and it was perfect for them. The owners are super friendly, helpful, and they make a mean breakfast! The rooms are reasonably priced and the location can't be beat. I would recommend the Green Room for a couple and the Grand Suite for a family. The upstairs terrace was a treat for hot nights. Thanks for the assistance in finding this b&b!
