I used to use https://www.pedidosya.com.ar/ and it worked fine, then awhile back (a year? two?) it wouldn't accept my Argentina Santander debit or credit cards. I recently tried it again, and the same thing, it won't accept my local debit or credit card and it says paying with cash option doesn't work either because it says it's over the limit accepted. I tried creating a new profile with a different email, I tried using the phone app, and they all fail. Is it me, my Santander debit/credit cards, or is Pedidosya simply not working any longer? Is Rappi a better choice? I've never used them, or is there a better alternative for ordering delivery?
Thanks!
Pete

I've had the exact same problem for a year now. It stopped accepting my Santander debit, won't let me reenter it, and (as you say) won't let you pay cash for most orders. Not sure other delivery sites might work? I gave up ordering delivery altogether when the cost became untenable for me. Hope you can find a solution.

Good for you. It's not just the commission you pay: restaurants and other outlets are having a hard enough time financially without losing up to 35% (the amount varies) in commission to a third party app. Some businesses still keep their delivery service in-house - we often see the familiar face of one of the waiters at our door when we order from one local restaurant - so all the income stays within their business.

I don’t want to say it’s always the case, but on a couple of occasions when I called restaurants directly, they quoted me a higher price than on PedidosYa. So maybe someone is losing that 35%, but it doesn’t necessarily mean you gain anything from it.

I think I can count on 10 fingers the times I've used a delivery service here in the last 10 years. I like cooking at home and really feel fortunate to have great restaurants so close, I can just walk over and order for take-out if I really need to. Sometimes when I'm sick or really feeling the lazy bug, I've given in to such luxuries but I'd rather not. It is good if some can keep their in-house delivery going, now with WhatsApp orders, seems like a no-brainer to just have some in-house delivery staff. I'm no business owner though, so can't speak to the economics of relying on Pedidosya over having to hire and retain delivery staff that serves a broad area.

I use Pedidos Ya all the time and I don't have any issues at present. I did have some recurring problems with the app several months ago, I think that they changed some things but you should be able to pay cash for most orders if you wish to do so. If you enter through your Windows pc, just make sure you allow third party cookies. I don't like Rappi too much, may be because lately it kind of forces me to calculate a tip ahead of time and it also seems more expensive to me. If the store or restaurant has it own delivery, it might be worth and cheaper ordering through whatsapp or over the phone.

Which debit/credit card do you use to place the order? With which bank? Seems like Pedidos doesn't like Santander cards. Also, the option to pay cash says it's above their limit, so I can't place the order. I've used different browsers on my PC and the phone app does the same, refuses my Santander's cards.

I use PY regularly but with other cards in spite of having an account with Santander. I personally hate Rappi's interface but they have a larger selection of stores. I have tried MercadoLibre delivery and is a very decent third option ( you will only see it on their app though )

Just wanted to comment that in my experience PedidosYa has some hidden punitive features. If your transaction gets rejected too many times it will ban that card from use. Also if you cancel too many orders (from delays, for example) it can suspend your user account. Try another card to see if that works.

I usually pay cash, sometimes I use a Santander credit card or I rarely use a debit card from Banco Provincia. Most of the rejections I find when I make online payments in general have to do with allowing cookies on the browser
