Po Box

Hey everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone knew about setting up a PO box? My mum tried to send me stuff from the UK and it bounced back her. Maybe if Correo Argentina do one? And if so what's the word for 'PO box'? PO caja?

Why do you assume it was bounced back? And why a PO box would solve this?

It's not the answer to your question about a local Argentine PO Box, but we opened an account with USA Box http://www.usabox.com/

Basically it's a virtual box office that will accept all your mail and packages. They give you a Miami address, not a PO box number but a "real" address. This is helpful for things like credit cards that don't allow you to use a PO Box number on your address. They scan the outside of your mail and email you an image of it when it's received and you can go online via a web browser and if it's junk mail you can tell them to throw it out. Then whenever you feel like you want to receive the mail (we do this about every 3-6 months) they ship it via DHL to your Argentina address and it arrives at your door, the charge for DHL is based on weight of the package. Note: this only works for paper letters, if you have things like packages or Amazon orders shipped, you may have to go to their office to clear customs and pay whatever duties may be imposed.

I am using the same method as pmacay, just with a different company called St. Brendan's Island (https://www.sbimailservice.com/). Another similar service with physical address is My RV Mail (https://www.myrvmail.com).

I just ordered my first shipping to Argentina with First class mail, but I am afraid they used a small package since there was a bulky checkbook letter from my bank. We'll see.
