Trump recently announced one more tax related idea that targets specifically expats (who have US citizenship but reside outside the US). He might want to eliminate citizenship-based taxation

Only 2 countries in the world have citizenship (as opposed to residency) based taxation -- Eritrea and the United States.

lol, as if people who didn't already earn over the foreign tax exemption weren't going to vote for him

trump set a record for increasing the debt. 5.5 trillion in 4 years. dont believe anything he says. your not a big enough group to effect the vote count. jus saying

he called foreign ballots fraudulent today
there is certain partial truth to that.

The US does not have truly national popular voting as many other countries like Argentina.
Our votes are counted as if we are citizens of a particular state (one of 50), not the US as a whole.

If you move to Puerto Rico (which is part of the US but not a state) you normally can no longer vote in federal elections.
In this light it's a bit strange that you still keep your right to vote when you move to Argentina.

I don't see any problem in overseas voting as long as person maintains bona fide ties to their home state (e.g. has property and mailing address there).
But many overseas people do not really have any ties to their home state.
And even if they have property, they likely rent it out, so they are no longer bona fide residents of their home state.

Trump and Milei could give away bars of gold and people on BA Expats would still complain about it.

Some people just find contentment in being discontent and by complaining, whether in the United States or in a foreign country. It's a sad way to go through life.
