Proof of means/income when applying for permanent residency (and later on citizenship)

Would also like to hear answers to this. Have applied for temporary residency with wife 6 months ago but am still waiting. We were married with separacion de bienes. She works two jobs and we are wondering if she can quit one of them without affecting our application (my savings suffice for the purposes of living until DNI is issued).

Was this after decree 366 2025? And they didn't ask for anything, not even a sworn declaration?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Decree 366 passed in May 2025? If that's the case, then yes, I did everything after the decree had passed (received union civil conjugal, applied for temporary residency, received precaria). No-one at Migraciones has mentioned an indication of financial means, a sponsor, or a sworn declaration at any stage. That being said, I'm not an expert. If you're really concerned, I'd recommend checking with a lawyer.

Hey @victoriarob if you went through the union civil -> precaria -> temp residency route relatively recently, would you mind giving me the lowdown of what to expect as will go through same process as you? Made a post about it but no responses so would appreciate it highly - https://baexpats.org/threads/civil-union-→-precaria-→-temporary-residency.49914/

Hey @bamark -- I shared some key points and pitfalls in the other thread. Heads-up that I have my precaria, but haven't had my temporary residency fully approved.

Confirmed. When recently questioning financial means, we (wife and I) were explicitly informed that proof of financial means is *not* part of the process for temporary residency as a family member of an Argentine citizen. No sworn declaration, nor sponsor required.

It can take some time. We are now around 5.5 months in.
