Proof of medical insurance to enter the country as a tourist?

Anyone ever heard of this being enforced? I saw it on a forum and was getting excited to call the person out since I live here and have never been asked on multiple entries in, but I checked the laws turns out he was right! Just curious if anyone else has heard of this law or enforcement.

They may never ask for it but it is mandatory. The same applies to us when we travel to the Schengen countries.

I believe it's been asked for at the borders with Bolivia, where a large part of the problem came from.
Although I have never been asked to show proof there, I know of others who have.
