My current bill from a major BA utility is for $231.07 if I pay it by 27/12/16. If I pay it between 28/12/16 and 02/01/17 the amount jumps to $233.03. This makes no sense. Wouldn't it be logical and fair to charge a 20% surcharge? .
Do people who have Argentine issued bank credit cards have this type of option? What about people who make car payments?

It's possible that there's only a certain percentage of surcharge allowed by law on utilities here

The surcharge is $3 pesos for 5 days on $231 pesos or 3/231 = 1.3% for 5 days .

Car payments and insurance also have this sort of penalties. Seems like a low interest rate below inflation
