Hello,
I'm aware a lot of threads have been made over the years regarding this specific topic, however, with the new laws and whatnot, I feel like I might have a higher chance of being refused entry at the border.
I came to Argentina on a tourist visa which I overstayed (by about 1 year). I left Argentina about 4 months ago, and (if everything goes to plan) I'm going back on thursday.
Basically I would like to know if migraciones are going to be stricter with me (for instance, will they be more likely to suspect a border run if my return flight is to, say, Brazil instead of my home country), especially since the new laws have been passed (do they actually ask for proof of insurance now and if so, how often?)
Another thing I'm wondering is whether I should lie regarding the purpose of my visit (I'm traveling to be with my girlfriend who is argentinian): I know it's bad practice to talk of renewing one's visa and the like, but I'm curious about whether or not I should minimize my ties to the country (I'm even considering speaking broken spanish on purpose). Because I guess on the other hand, being able to prove you have a place to stay and know people in the country could be a plus, couldn't it?
(Both interactions I have had with migraciones have been fairly negative, hence the numerous and maybe overly specific questions. Will post an update on thursday anyway, in case someone else is in a similar situation someday)
Thanks in advance!
