Recycling old cell phone?

I recently bought a newer phone to upgrade a very old Huawei given to me by a friend before he moved. It was just for a pay-as-you-go plan here and I only used it for emergencies. It's not a true smart phone, it's an old android, likely not even able to get software updates. I moved to a cheap-ish Samsung and now would love to either donate or recycle this old Huawei (it doesn't have a charger, either). Are there stores that recycle old electronics, or a shelter or someplace that may take it to give to someone in need? Again, it's VERY basic (as I like them) but I'm sure someone, someplace could use it?

Go to your local McDonalds. Leave it on the table while you go to the restroom. Someone will adopt it before you get back.

Walk down any of the narrow streets in San Telmo. Pretend like you are talking on it.

The phone will magically disappear. You might simultaneously hear a motorcycle. But ignore it.

And you could probably buy it back on Corrientes after a decent interval, so in theory you could repeat the procedure and you could feel good many times over.
