I am in an odd situation regarding my visa status, and was wondering if anyone might have some insight. I have been in BA on a work visa/temporary residency. I had to unexpectedly return to the US last week, and realized at the time that my residency is expiring while I'm here (yesterday, to be exact).
I read that there is a 30 day grace period for renewing the visa, but does this apply for re-entering the country? Or will I have to enter on a tourist visa? I'm worried that if I enter on a tourist visa, I'll have to start from scratch in terms of the work visa, and have to reapply as opposed to renew....which would mean getting another fbi report...
I am going to try to get in touch with immigrations, but wanted to check in case anyone has been in this situation before or has any ideas on how to handle this.
