I was wondering if anyone might have any tips on how to send boxes cheaply (just clothes and books) back to the States.
I have heard this is costly and was wondering if anyone had any experience with this. Thanks in advance.

There is no cheap way. It's very costly. Plus, you have to take all the clothes and books you plan on shipping to an office in Puerto Madero (I can't remember the name) and leave them their for a day in order to get clearance before shipping them. Then you can pick them up and take everything to Correo Argentino in Retiro and wait all day to ship them. It's worth it to sell everything and buy new things in the US.

Or maybe you can find someone moving back with a container and willing to squeeze them in for a fee. For the clothes might be cheaper to buy and check in extra bags with you on the plane, though.

I don't know how much money you want to spend, but I solved that problem once by buying a friend the airline ticket with the understanding that they would check two bags for me. Much much less hassle, and they even had my cat under their seat as I was traveling with the dog under mine.

I keep thinking, here in Argentina you can sell used items for almost the same price as new items. So why not sell clothes and stuff, then buy new in the US?
