Hola

Im an aussie heading to BA for a party (informal wedding) in April.

My fiancée and I have been to BA a few times and we love the city. We cant wait to share it with our friends.

Now, for this party (very very informal wedding), we are thinking of having some music for a couple of hours in the early evening. We would love a group that is quintessentially Argentinean. Maybe an accordion player with a guitarist? Or a violinist with a bass player? Or a jazz/blues trio? Quiet honestly, we are open to any suggestions you may have.

Does anyone know.....are their agents who represent musicians like this? Or do you have to know of an actual group or manager?

Im also hoping that whoever we organise has a little english, because my spanish is average at the best of times.

Any information will be greatly appreciated. GREATLY appreciated. I really dont know where to go.

Thanks in advance

Kind Regards

Matt

Hola Matt!

My name is Rose. I'm from USA, only been here one month. My husband's is Mariano, he is born and raised here in Argentina! We have many musician friends. I play the cello and have been playing with locals who have done many recordings. I'd be happy to help you find what you need.

I speak only English and challenged by the Spanish here (I hope that will change). My husband is fluent and can be a great service. He is also the artistic director of a theater company called Eternacompania, which currently casts past and present performers of the famous groups of De La Guarda, Fuerza Bruta and Tecnopolis.

I know of guitarists, a bassist, a bag pipe player, and myself a cellist who could do your wedding. I'll keep an ear open for an accordian player which shouldn't be too hard to find in our circle. Do you know the date of the wedding? Do you know about how much the couple is interested paying the musicians? That would be good to know!

Warm regards,
Rose

Hola Rose

Thanks for your response.

Your suggestion sounds great. It sounds like you know the right people too. We would love to include an accordion player if possible

The date of the wedding is April 18 and the band would only be required for 2 hours.

I have no idea how much this sort of thing costs. Your probably better off giving me the idea of how much it would cost. I was hoping a few hundreds US dollars.

Is there anyway we could listen to some of your music?

Hope to hear from you soon.

Regards

Matt

Hi Matt,

Found an accordion player! As far as listening to our music online, we haven't recorded as a group yet. I have recordings which I can upload to a website and when I do I'll post the link. Noticed the wedding is in Buenos Aires, could you tell me the barrio or major intersection? This would help.

Does the couple have a special song or songs they'd like to hear? We could do a rough recording. We can start building a repertoire for show. Im assuming you probably want us to do mostly covers the wedding which shouldn't be too hard. I've got a classical background and the other guys come from jazz and folk backgrounds. We'd really like to incorporate a few tango songs too, any suggestions?

Hope to hear from you soon! I'll be better at checking this website, still new here!

Kind regards,
Rose
