Juana y sus hermanas-

it was an early 90's sketch comedy, kind of SNL like, featuring Juana Molina, now retired from TV and doing indie/alt/ARG/techno/folk.

but any of the dozens of Juana y sus hermanas clips on youtube are pretty funny, with a bunch of recurring characters.

I do like Casa de mi padre starring will farrel. It is not a sticom but at least I understood the Spanish. I found the american accented spanish really funny and incomprehensible

Found it funny for all the wrong reasons. WF has me convinced he's a complete idiot.

Good call, Dipoots.

Hi!

I'm Argentine and I recommend the following series/tv shows/miniseries:

Comedies:
Juana y sus hermanas: I remember watching this when I was a kid, absolutely hilarious.
Antonio Gasalla: I don't remember the name of the TV show but Gasalla is a well-known comedian, he stars in "Esperando la Carroza". Here's a video that is kind of a parody of what happens in real life, "La Empleada Pública".

Poné a Francella: I assume that you already know Francella. This TV show was also great. http://youtu.be/bHlt4_4by0s
Peter Capusotto y sus videos: Hilarious.
Todo por dos pesos: Specially "Boluda total" http://youtu.be/-ByQuU8PT9c
Casados con hijos: Really funny specially for its cast.

Drama Miniseries:
Los simuladores. Excellent miniseries. I rewatched it many times.
Tiempo final: I saw and totally recommend it.http://youtu.be/176qg7vBKLU
Mujeres asesinas: Really good quality series but it's probably only for those who fancy horror movies.

Telenovelas:
Ciega a Citas: I haven't watched it yet but heard great comments about it. Viewers also recommend "Soltera otra vez", which is Chilean. http://youtu.be/2axy2bWJzqQ
En Terapia: I think that they couldn't have cast someone else for the role of the therapist since Diego Peretti apart from being an oustanding actor is also a phychiatrist who had practiced for some years.http://youtu.be/OTnVc0oKoaE

Hope you enjoy them! :D

There's a new series that started not long ago called "Sos mi hombre." But from what I've heard it's pretty terrible. I haven't found any local series I really like... though my husband does like to watch Cuestion de Peso (a daytime weight loss show/contest.) It's funny at times, but may be hard to learn from since there isn't really a plot.

I watched the movie "Medianeras". I think it is a great movie to watch as an introduction to Buenos Aires and to practice listening to Spanish.
