Shipping a Tablet

Ok expats, we need your help. The HP Touchpad is supposed to be going on sale for $100 US soon. If it's shipped directly from Amazon.com with original receipt, will they believe the price and charge the customs fees accordingly, or make up their own number? Will Amazon's "Priority Courier Shipping" actually arrive or "get lost"?

Also, if we ask a family member to ship it (it appears the sale price might not be offered online), what is the best method of making sure it gets here and also that customs charges reflect the actual price paid?

Don't do it. You'll have to go to Ezeiza to get it and deal with random customs policies and duties.

It was a mad rush to get these devices, but luckily I was in the States at the right time and online early Sunday morning and managed to get two of them. We'll have to see how they work now...

Already have the iPad. This was the opportunity to get into the $99 buying frenzy... One is going to my brother in law in BA, and the other our 1 year old can grow into it.
