Argentina has been a dollar economy now for over 40 years . Can you imagine in the USA or Japan using a foreign currency to buy a property or a car . This has been the case here as the peso has so little worth and is best spent on the same day . This has been positive for property transactions as if dollar transactions were illegal non residents would have to sell in pesos and work out a way to send it out of Argentina . Now with currency controls there is a few cuevas you can use but the cost to send money out of Argentina is to the moon atm .

Prices of properties will show a serious correction in 2020 as the real estate market has collapsed . The colegio of escribanos has a informe that August 2019 was the worst month ever recorded for properties changing hands . People have lost confidence in investing in Argentina and it will be a long time before this returns
