Smart Phone As A Wifi Hot Spot Costs

Hi,

I'm bringing down my HTC phone in May and it can be used as a hot spot. The apartment that I will be renting does not have internet, so I may really need to use that feature down there. What's the approximate extra cost for that on cellular plans? I went to the Movistar site and can't seem to find that feature offered there.

Internet over cel phones sucks big time.
Poor man's solution to this is to get hold of a neighbor, explain your needs and volunteer to pay the intenet bill or part of it for a while if said neighbor is willing to share it over a wireless router.

Cable 6Mb is 240 pesos a month (fibertel) > U$D 30 "blue" bills. Using just Wifi, you'll only be able to use a portion of it, wired gets the lion's share.

I have no idea how it works on an htc phone but I have a tethering tweak that I use on my iPhone in a pinch and iznogud is absolutely right, iznogud
