Hi All!

Quick question for all expats here... I have been in Argentina about 5 weeks and am really enjoying it. I am learning Spanish and painting...I came in on a US passport tourist visa. What are the best options if I wish to stay over 4 or 5 months?

Take the Ferry to Uruguay. Automatic renewal as you leave. Have some time there to enjoy or just come straight back.

Or just overstay and pay the appropriate fee at the airport prior to departure. The airline will "insist" on this prior to check in, and you won't have any problem with migraciones.

I second this. The fee is the same whether you overstay a day or a year. I overstayed about 3-4 months and got charged $40,000ARS at Aeroparque, no questions asked. They stamped a piece of paper that I presented to Migraciones when I left and I was on my way. Much cheaper than a trip to Uruguay if money is an issue.
