I'll be spending 6 weeks in Buenos Aires starting in late September. I dance Lindy Hop and Balboa, and would like to learn as much Tango as possible while I'm in Argentina. Can anyone help me with recommendations for a tango instructor? I'm interested in both group classes and private lessons.

Thanks!

I would highly recommend Alejandro Puerta, a personal friend and excellent teacher. You can read his Trip Advisor reviews here, which link to his website:

I think I learned the most from

private classes:
* Alejandro Gee (tango milonguero) http://tangoalejandrogee.com/contact/
* Dante Sanchez and Ines Muzzopappa http://inesmuzzopappa-contacto.blogspot.be

You should contact Dante and Ines to check if they are in Buenos Aires, since they are regularly on tour.

group classes:
* Estudio la esquina http://estudiolaesquina.blogspot.be
* La academia in El Beso http://www.laacademiatango.com/content/clases

I tried several but Guerry and Lucia are the best in Buenos Aires. He's Irish, she's Argentinean, they may teach in English and Spanish.

I recommend Christian Milano who was a semifinalist at the Tango Festival in BA last year. The good thing is that he is humble as hell and inexpensive...he is an honest guy, very professional. Christian and his partner taught me and other folks. Most folks are local but his English is very good.

My recommendation is for Francisco Forquera, the best teacher for classes in men's technique or private lessons too if you are a follower. He is amazing, footwork exercises in the classes are the best I have seen in 15 years dancing tango. He teaches at Berretin Tango. He used to teach at Mariposita de San Telmo with Carolina Bonavaentura whom I would also recommend for women's technique or salon and stage tango.
