Some friends are in town and they want tickets for the concert at Teatro Colon tomorrow night. Obviously it's nearly sold out with only the most expensive seats left. Any ideas of where to get hold of tickets? Anyone got any for sale? Thanks!

Are you sure you mean tomorrow ? It seems to be a rest day apart from "Andreas Schiff"

I had good luck with just turning up in the ticket office for returns but it was a few years back. If they cannot go try and attend a concert . Just seeing the building is worth it.

Ye just turn up and see if you have good luck. As Aleina said, just seeing the building lit up at night is pretty special. Amazing place!

Thanks, they already did the guided tour and loved it so much they want to try and catch a concert. I looked at tuentradas.com but there's only one ticket left. @AleinDee, it's Mozart.
Any idea when you have to start queuing for returns?? Did you get anything decently priced? Thanks again!

Now my experience was about ten years back.I walked in in the morning for a performance at night, all apologetic wondering if they had a ticket left. The answer was a grumpy "why should we not ". I would make a day of it have breakfast out somewhere and go straight after. I got a seat in the "gods " or just beyond the paraiso for around $ 10 what I would have paid in London then, so I was happy .

If they cannot get into the Colon and still wold like to see a performance they could go to http://www.balirica.org.ar/ Entfuehrung aus dem Serail
The theatre is really lovely, not on the scale of the Colon by any stretch of the imagination, but a lovely little theatre in the round . If you were to compare it to London I would say it is like the difference between Covent Garden and the English National Opera

Thanks Aleina. There's nothing on at the lirica tomorrow night, but I'll keep it in mind, and recommend that they go tomorrow morning to try for returns!!!
