Heard the pot banging and checked la nacion to see what was up. Can't believe it. France doesn't deserve this.

Still I've never seen a cacerolazo for international news before.

There could be more than pot banging in the USA tomorrow if the "rumor" of a call by Anonymous for a "Day of Rage" in support of Black Lives Matter is taken seriously by individuals who are enraged enough to go beyond the call for a "non-violent" protest in 37 US cities: http://www.tbo.com/n...otest-20160714/

PS: According to this article, a similar call for a Day of Rage was made in 2014 and nothing happened. Even if nothing "bad" happens tomorrow, the Republican National Convention takes place next week and there will undoubtedly be some rabble-rousers wanting to create chaos. Hopefully, none of them will be armed or driving large trucks, intent on creating mayhem.

Oh the news...

Apparently some of the Trumpsters will be exercising their rights and taking their guns. That's real ones, water pistols are banned of course. Not sure why, more dangerous than real ones with bullets?

No one deserves this. That being said, In 1961, French police murdered over 200 Algerian protesters in Paris and dumped their bodies in the Seine river. The French covered up this story for over 30 years.
This historical event is surprisingly obscure, considering its relevance. One must wonder if incidents like this helped shape the current state of alienation between the Muslim minority in France and the rest of the population, facilitating the formation of breeding grounds for terrorism.

This has nothing to do with anything. Why even bring it up? You obviously know zero about islamist propaganda in France today, which, based on media reports, is not focused on 1961 but on current events in Syria and Iraq.
EDIT: also, "no one deserved this, but..." sounds a lot like the new "I'm not a racist, but..." Please steer well clear of anything that could be deemed an apology of mass murder.

The guy that attacked the crowd in Nice was a French-born Tunisian. I think people are really ignoring France's history with North Africa and how it "balkanized" French society, severely limiting the assimilation of members of the Muslim minority into France's mainstream.

When your police murders 200 unarmed Muslims protesters, dump their bodies into the river, and deny this ever happened for over 30 years, don't wonder afterwards why minorities fail to integrate or why extremist ideas find fertile ground.
