The mess called BancoCiudad

Does anyone know what is going on with BancoCiudad? I have been a customer since this past fall. Lately I’m often unable to withdraw money from ATM machines (because they have none). Today I went to two locations, each of which had long lines of people on the sidewalk trying to get in to obtain cash directly from employees. The ATMs were not working. I couldn’t wait that long in the line so I left.

Go to a supermarket and ask if and how much you can get cash back using your debit card. Usually the limit is around 70,000 pesos with a purchase.

You can normally also get 70k from Farmacity. The 6-day weekend would have been a bad time to do anything with ATMs, either depositing or withdrawing. Possibly the bank was overwhelmed with the aftermath of the weekend.

I do all cash withdrawals at PAGO FACIL which is closer to home that an ATM.

Unless there's a special agreement between Pago Fácil and Banco Ciudad, Pago Fácil likely charges you a dollar or two per withdrawal.
