It's true. I acquired one of those Pet Cockroaches and got him a choke collar and a leash. Now he can go out with the Roach Walkers and bark at passers-by in my entry way.
There are other brands that aren't bad tastewise, "Bun" for example which is quite reasonable price compared to Lays, and the Carrefour brand is nice, a little too salty sometimes. Maybe we don't need to stoop to the home-made 'free pet included' brand just yet.
This was funny and very true, at least from my perspective.

Yes I know I could make my own, someone says so every time I post, but I don't have time to make bread, tahini, potato chips, shake milk into cream or look after bees, cows, pigs and chickens.
Wow! Lay's only cost 10 pesos in September 2011? And people were complaining, haha, seems like a bargain!! They're 17 pesos now, one year on! That's a 70% increase. I was told tonight by the guy who works in the chino supermarket that it's due to the price of the high quality oil. They also said sales haven't gone down and that people will pay anything for chips to accompany their beer. In UK people would stop buying if the price went that high. Different attitudes here...
So, time to revive this thread....moaning about paying $10 for the 160g bag of Lay's, LMAO, now $22. And, guess what? They have now brought out an even minier packet, a new 17g pack for $4! I think I'm going to buy one just to find out how many potato chips you get for 17g!!! Shall we all take bets on it? 6 maybe, 7?
Junk food SHOULD be expensive. Maybe the prices are the reason there aren't so many oversized tushies in Argentina. There are some, but you have to admit that tushie size in general is larger in North America.
Not only the junk food is smaller. The sodas. The first time I was handed a medium soda at McDonalds I was like really... Now I tend to think it's one of the reasons people seem to be in much better shape here. No refills either. No big gulps or double gulps or crazy stuff going on. I read somewhere that obesity is getting worse in Argentina though. I also think that junk food should have the same kind of taxation as cigarettes have. Not only is it easier, tastes good, makes kids go crazy, the real problem comes when all those things remain true and it's actually cheaper than most other healthier options. Some might say that McDonalds is more expensive here but I just don't see that much difference especially for the big mac fans that know Argentina's (not so) secret value meal.
